About Me

Hello, I am Larry Hernandez, Principal Recruiting Consultant @ RecruiterDNA.

Larry has more than 22 years of experience in the talent acquisition industry. Yup, that's approximately 43,680 hours of sourcing and recruiting and counting.


His career began when he literally “answered the call” at a company called Manpower. He went in looking for a temp job; they were shorthanded; and Manpower’s branch manager told him to pick up a ringing phone. The rest, as they say, is history.


Since then, Larry has had roles as a Technical Recruiter and Talent Programs Advisor at USAA, Recruiter at Zappos, and Technical Talent Acquisition at ThoughtWorks—to name a few.


Currently, Larry is the Principal Consultant, Sourcing Strategist, and Founder of RecruiterDNA—a company that Larry started in 2011. RecruiterDNA leverages 20+ years of agency, RPO, and in-house talent acquisition experience to fill in any current knowledge gaps, add needed bandwidth, and increase internal efficiencies by implementing best practices and cutting-edge technology.


Larry has spent the last couple of years doing sourcing and recruiting consulting for various companies, and he’s noticed that—regardless of the industry—there’s a need to transform the way organizations go about recruiting. 



When Larry isn’t finding top-notch talent, he likes to spend his time contributing to the sourcing community. Larry was making instructional recruiting youtube videos before it was cool. 


 Larry has been a speaker at events such as: TalentNet Interactive and GIG Economy Talent Brand Social Sourcing and most recently at ​SourceCon Vegas 2018 on the topic of Inbound Recruiting and Sourcing.  


In 2018, Larry was selected to be one of 17 Global Recruitment Innovators and Influencers on the SourceCon Technology Advisory Committee. This group will meet regularly to discuss, learn, and share new technology in the HR and Talent Acquisition industry.

Larry also is an occasional blogger on his website recruiterlarry.com and enjoys traveling with his wife and two bulldogs.

The SourceCon Technology Advisory Committee is a membership of 17 innovators and influencers in sourcing and recruitment that will meet regularly to discuss, learn and share new technology in the HR and talent acquisition industry. The Technology Advisory Committee is a subcommittee of our SourceCon Advisory Committee.
